We live blind and deaf to the primary motivating force of action. Feelings unnoticed nudge us to act. We gain a deeper appreciation for life and measured control when we develop our relationship with emotion through focusing.
Giving meaning to feelings with subjective interpretations

Mixed in with the beauty are some sorrows. When we are well-connected, occasionally, along with the joys are some tears.
Moods interfere with interpretation of life. Stepping back with understanding helps to modify these stinkers.
Guilt may push for change or leave us debilitated and paralyzed. Loving kindness is the healthy response to debilitating guilt.
Emotions can be powerful--so powerful we may avoid them and the people expressing them. Empathy is gained through openness to experience, one on one contact with the feeling experience of others.
Experience dredges up the past, uncovering hurts and tender parts of our souls. To survive, we must find productive avenues through these moments without damaging the present and future.
We are pulled into harmful routines by emotion. We feel and then we react. Unfortunately, our reaction isn't always helpful. We need space to think and then act more appropriately.

We worry. Thinking about the future is an adaptive response to complex problems; we prepare and we avoid. But too much worry interferes with constructive action. We even worry about our worrying.
FLS internal Link. Negativity: The natural feeling responses to experience give both wisdom and limiting bias. As cognitive creatures, we need to examine what we are feeling, how we interpret that feeling, and determine the utility of our natural inclinations.
Mindful examination of the two internal guidance systems behind our action can refine errant predictions and misguided reactions.
Chasing a better life, we sometimes neglect the very things that give us the life we seek.
When we expertly greet our child's emotions with empathy, acceptance and reciprocation, the child develops a positive relationship with their own feelings--a major contribution to healthy living.
We move through stages of behavior, thought and emotion. Each phase impacting the others. We work to change by modifying any (and sometimes all) of the stages.

We need a sense of security to thrive. If we are continually frightened, we will pull into ourselves and limit opportunity.
FLS Link. The Fleeting Emotions. When emotionally flooded, it is difficult to cognitively inject thoughts to escape the moment. We need habitual practices that we automatically integrate into these moments that calm the system first, then we can cognitively join adapt, thinking of the future.
We must manage worry to push action without burdening with overwhelm. Concern for the future is important but easily can become all consuming.

Achieving the most from the wisdom of emotions requires purposeful effort to integrate emotions into our larger concepts of self.
The instant attachment, finding a soul mate, sounds like a fairy tale; but often is laced with hidden problems. Take it slow.
Our thoughts propel us into fruitful and prepared futures, but they also can haunt our peaceful moments with worry and guilt. By mindful attentiveness to the nature of our thoughts we can gain the benefits and limit the harm.
